Course overview

Previous knowledge on developmental biology, cell biology and neurobiology is needed for good learning results.

The course will take a comparative approach to study cell- and developmental biology mechanisms of regeneration in different animal phyla. The goal is to obtain understanding of the basic principles of regeneration and how this knowledge could be used to the development of cell replacement interventions.

Period IV

Lectures, seminars and oral presentations (23 h, minimum 80% attendance). Written exam.

Lecture handouts plus additional literature provided at lectures.

Grading scale 0-5.
