1st year TRANSMED students
Knowledge of the general principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Detailed analyses of action of drugs, their side-effects and clinical use in selected therapeutic areas. Insights into principles of pharmacogenetics, its research methods and applications in drug development and in patient care. The choice of the selected therapeutic areas and drug action will be informed later.
Annual, spring term.
The course is arranged according to the flipped-classroom educational approach. The course consists of interactive small group sessions covering the selected topics. Each session is preceded by assignments which promote student’s familiarization to the topic prior to teaching.
Active attendance at each teaching session. Answers to beforehand given questions should be handed in after each teaching session. The final exam has to be passed.
