Starting level: CEFR A2 (pdf).
Intermediate German 1 arranged by the Language Centre, or equivalent German courses at school.
The course will expand and deepen the students’ language skills in a versatile manner.
After completing the course, students
- Can understand the key content of clear speech and of longer texts, e.g., articles and job advertisements
- Can discuss topics dealt with on the course and write short texts related to the course topics
- Can manage in German in everyday language use
- Can recognise cultural differences and similarities between German-speaking countries and their own
The course will increase students' knowledge of German-speaking countries.
The course topics include work, leisure, environment and well-known German persons.
Grammatical topics will include the adjective declensions, the past tense, the conditional and the reflection verbs.
In class, students will practise communication in everyday use in small groups and in pairs. Numerous oral assignments.

Course. Teacher-instructed course with 40 hours of contact teaching and 38 hours of independent work.
Minimum course attendance: 75%
