Master’s degree, exchange and visiting students in Animal Science or related disciplines.

Basics in genetics, animal breeding and animal nutrition required.

After this course students will be able to understand main methodology used in animal genomics, basic characteristics of domestic animal genomes and applications of genomics and other omics approaches in animal production.

Period III

Principles of genomics, methods in genome analysis, DNA sequencing methods, animal genomes, genetic variation, DNA markers, single nucleotide polymorphisms and their analysis methods, animal genomics and metabolism focused databases, functional genomics, microbiomes in gastrointestinal tracts, nutrigenomics, other omics approaches in animal research, applications of genomics and other omics approaches.

Lectures, assignments, seminar presentation. 30 h lectures and presentations, 104 h independent studies.
