Primarily for the Master’s students specializing in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science or in related disciplines.
Basic knowledge on animal production is required: completed courses Chemical composition and nutritive value of feeds, Nutrition of ruminants and Nutrition and production of swine and poultry or equivalent knowledge.
After the course the student knows the basis of animal feed processing, conservation and production chains with special reference to forages and Nordic conditions. The student is able to apply and integrate the theoretical knowledge acquired to various animal production chains and conditions.
Period III, in even years.
Processes, design and manufacture of industrial feeds for domestic animals. Liquid feeding. Theory and methods of ensiling forages for ruminant livestock production in Nordic conditions. Feed legislation.
