Arrangements for students in need of special support

Open University reserves the right to make changes to the study programme.

The course is organized in co-operation with the KUMA. KUMA arranges the course in which the Open University students (max 10 students) attend. They registrate themselves via Open University's study programme (Enrol).

Description

Open for everyone.

Students will be introduced to key issues pertaining to museums and collecting, internationally and within the Finnish context. They will develop and appraise, based on theoretical and applied perspectives, strategic solutions to the challenges facing contemporary museum collecting policies and practices. They will develop their planning and research skills, and gain experience of writing in different formats for different purposes.

Lectures, practical work, and site visits.

Prerequisites

Since the course is on the master’s level, students are expected to have previously completed university studies and/or have the ability to review required skills independently.

The recommendation is to complete the course KUMA-MU501 before or simultaneously with this course.
