To get familiar with various methods for analyzing energy metabolism from cells to organs to the whole organism. The course will end with a one-day symposium where students learn how to use and translate the results in different research areas.

19.10.18 Opening of the course and Oroboros workshop (mitochondrial respiration measurement in tissue samples)

22.10.18 Demo I & II. Body composition and energy expenditure measurements in mice

23.10.18 Seminar Day (open for all)

24.10.18 Seahorse workshop (Mitochondrial respiration measurement in cells and lower organisms)

25.10.18 Calculation of own results from Demo I & II, conclusions and discussion.


2 ECTS for participating in lectures AND mini-symposium. NB! Register both to lectures and mini-symposium!

1 ECTS for participating mini-symposium only

A one-week course: Minisymposium (full day), data analysis (a half day) workshops (three half days)
