Master’s Programme in Geology and Geophysics is responsible for the course and it belongs to the common courses for every study track module.

The course is not available to students from other degree programmes.

Upon completion of this course students will (1) learn how to design scientific research projects, (2) understand effective methods for writing scientific research proposals, (3) gain experience and confidence giving effective oral scientific presentations, and (4) produce a complete proposal for their Master’s thesis that will be presented to all members of the Master’s program in Geology and Geophysics

The recommended time for completion is in the first year of MSc studies.

The course is offered in periods III-IV.

Effective oral and written scientific presentations, critical assessment of scientific works, effective scientific writing, designing research proposals

Writing exercises, oral presentations, peer review of writen/oral presentations

The course is graded on a 1-5 scale. 30% assignments; 35% written proposal; 35% proposal presentation
