After completing this course, the student will be able to:
-interpret relevant data from different historical texts and comment on them making consistent and reasoned judgements related to the topics under study;
-apply the acquired knowledge to understand other disciplines within Spanish Philology such as those related to different literatures, History and Culture of Spanish America or even History of the Language
-apply the acquired knowledge to understand the current Spanish reality.
First year of Spanish studies.
The course will be offered once per year during two periods.
It will be offered every year.
2 periods, each period: 7 lessons x 2 h.
The content of the course will cover a general overview of the history of Spain to be able to identify and locate various cultural movements. It will be important to understand the historical process from the Middles Ages to the present autonomous constitutional system. The content will focus on socio-economic developments and their cultural reflection. The teacher will decide which periods of the History of Spain and, particularly, which events will be dealt with in depth.
Literature will be given by the teacher at the beginning of the course.
Lessons given by the teacher, individual practices and working group tasks guided by the teacher.
The teacher will inform about the documentation of the activities.

Grading scale from 0 to 5.
