Compulsory course.

Master’s Programme in Languages.

Advanced Studies in Spanish Philology (nuclear).

Only for students of Spanish Philology.

The student must have completed all the Basic and Intermediate Studies corresponding to “kielitiede” and “kielitaide”.

Courses recommended:

-Those on the Optional Unit “Tools and Applications for the Study of Spanish”, specially, Spanish Corpora and Their Use in Teaching and Research.

It is intended that the student knows the main lines of the current studies in Hispanic Linguistics to be able to apply them either in his/her own research or in future teaching in all the levels.

The students will approach modern theoretical and methodological models and the solutions offered by them from the perspective of a particular phenomenon.

The student will develop problem-solving skills applied to real linguistic phenomena.

Through each case-based learning situation, the student will put in practice self-regulation skills, reflection skills and self-management skills.

The student will be able to communicate his/her findings and exchange information with the other students taking as basis the topic under study. S/he will be able to discuss and provide arguments in favour or against different solutions.

After having completed the subjects within “kielitaito” and “kielitiede” from Basic and Intermediate Studies.

It will be offered in two periods along the academic year.

If the course is not offered every year, it will be replaced by guided studies.

The topic of each monograph can vary every year and it will be announced by the teacher later.

Contact teaching:

The course consists of two monographs on Spanish Grammar or Linguistics, each of them carried out in a Period (7 lessons x 2h).
