Exam: Wednesday 23 October in C123 at 14:00-17:00. The exam will include some theory questions from the lectures (definitions, proofs, ...), problems from the exercise sets and, in addition, some new problems.

Another exam, https://courses.helsinki.fi/en/mast31001/132913845, is at the general examination held 11 December at 16:00-19:00. The registration to the exam will end 10 days before; make sure to register at Weboodi.

Lectures on Tuesdays in B121 at 12:15 - 14:00 and on Wednesdays in C123 at 14:15 - 16:00. Exercise sessions are on Wednesdays in CK111 at 10:15 - 12:00. First lecture: 3 September. First exercise session: 11 September.

A weekly course diary is written at the fall 2019 lecture notes.

You get points for the exam by solving the homework assignments:
30% = +1p, 40% = +2p, 50% = +3p, 60% = +4p, 70% = +5p, 80% = +6p

Description

Compulsory course.

Master's Programme in Mathematics and Statistics is responsible for the course.

Belongs to the Mathematics and Applied mathematics module.

The course is available to students from other degree programmes.

Measure and integral

Barchelor studies

The course gives the basic knowlegde on real analysis that is of fundamental importance on analysis.

Recommended time/stage of studies for completion: 1. year

Term/teaching period when the course will be offered: varying

Basics on real analysis, like L^p spaces, convolution, covering theorems, Lebesgue's differentiation theorem, BV- and absolutely continuous functions.

Required: Reaalianalyysi I, luentomoniste.

Recommended: R. Gariepy, W. Ziemer: Modern real analysis. F. Jones: Lebesgue integration on Euclidean space.

Lectures and exercise classes.

Exam and excercises, Course will be graded with grades 1-5.
