Description

Studieavsnittet är öppet för studenter från olika utbildningsprogram vid HU. Studenter i MSV och studenter med inriktningen socialt arbete i Sosiaalitieteiden maisteriohjelma prioriteras.

Avlagda kandidatstudier.

After completing the course students;

  • are able to analyse different causes and patterns of migration, also in a historical perspective
  • are able to understand and can critically view theories of migration, integration and ethnic diversity in a welfare state context
  • are aware of the nexus between global migration and local welfare institutions, services and practices
  • are able to critically judge concepts and methods concerning integration strategies and practices
  • are able to apply the above in the encountering of clients with different ethnic and cultural identities.

Rekommenderad tidpunkt för när studieavsnittet ska genomföras: Fritt under magisterstudierna.

Studieavsnittet ordnas: Vårterminen.

Kursen består av föreläsningar samt skriftlig tentamen alternativt essä. Inlämningsdatum för essän enligt närmare instruktioner av examinatorn.

Studieavsnittet bedöms med betygsskalan 0-5. Bedömningskriterier delas ut i samband med kursen eller fås vid behov av tentator.

Instructions for examinations

  • Faculty examinations are held in the Porthania lecture halls (Yliopistonkatu 3).
  • Faculty examinations begin at 9.00. Students must arrive by 9.30 and may leave no earlier than 9.30.
  • Students may take only writing utensils with them to their seats (no bags etc.). No programmable calculators or dictionaries are allowed.
  • Mobile phones must be switched off.
  • Examination answers must be returned to the invigilator in the examination envelope.
  • Students must provide proof of identity when submitting their answers.

Studieavsnittet kan avläggas på två olika sätt:

a) Studenten deltar i kursen (föreläsningar, övningar m.m.) och skriver en essä på basis av föreläsningarna och litteratur (2 av punkterna i den angivna litteraturen).

b) Enbart litteraturstudier. Studenten tenterar vid allmänt tentamenstillfälle, eller skriver en essä på basis av litteraturen. (3 av punkterna i den angivna litteraturen ovan).
