On completion of the Foreign Policy and Security course, students will have gained an introduction to the key themes, concepts and debates in the fields of security and foreign policy studies, and will have developed their skills in foreign policy analysis and their abilities to apply theoretical concepts to issues and events in contemporary international politics.

Third period of the second year of studies

The course offers an introduction to the key themes, concepts and debates in the fields of security and foreign policy studies. The lectures introduce the students to both traditional approaches to these fields in the discipline of international relations and their critical challengers, focusing in particular on the debates regarding the relation between domestic and foreign policy and the scope of the concept of security. The lectures will also apply these theoretical perspectives to key contemporary events and processes in world politics.
