Completing the course on the Theory of Feminist Research in Politics at the same time with this course provides students with a deeper understanding of feminist research in politics.
After completing the course, students will recognise the ways in which gender is linked with political participation and representation in European democracies. They will be proficient in the central methods of analysing connections between gender and politics in various political contexts, as well as able to critically evaluate the functioning of political systems from the perspective of gender. Students will be able to apply their learning independently and critically to various political situations and contexts, as well as to writing their thesis.
Third or fourth period of the first year of studies.
The course familiarises students with feminist empirical political research and its main results from the perspective of the European operational environment. The focus is on the link between gender and political participation and representation, as well as its impact on the functionality of democracy in practice. The course may also examine the means and strategies that have been developed and applied to attaining equal representation, as well as related problems and challenges.
