Upon completion of the unit, students will have a deeper knowledge of theoretical literature in the field of political science and will be able to critically assess theoretical ideas and their relevance to their own thesis research.
First year of doctoral studies. Students can take the book examination in the examinarium system during the teaching periods. Possible teaching will be announced in the study guide.
Students closely examine the selected readings, their theoretical underpinnings and influence on the discipline of political science. They work to develop a deeper understanding of the central concepts, issues and strands of theorizing in political science. They also work to develop their own capabilities of critically assessing theoretical knowledge and reflecting upon their own situated placement in this context.
