Ilmasto.nyt on monialainen kokonaisuus ilmastonmuutoksen perusteista. Se on luotu ensisijaisesti korkeakoulutasoisen 5 opintopisteen opintojakson järjestämiseksi tai itseopiskeltavaksi. Monialaisuutensa takia materiaali soveltuu hyödynnettäväksi eri aloilla, sekä muussa koulutuksessa esim. järjestöissä tai yrityksissä. Materiaali on avoimesti kaikkien hyödynnettävissä. Jakson voi suorittaa myös suomeksi
No previous knowledge requirements. The course is suitable for students of all fields and from bachelor to doctoral studies.
The course familiarizes the student to the issue of climate change. In addition to providing the basic scientific knowledge base, the course reinforces the student’s understanding of climate change as a deep human and societal challenge and provides means to participate in resolving it.
Having completed the course, the student is able to consider climate change from many different perspectives, create connections between them, as well as look for solutions to the issue. The student is able to reflect on his or her own role in climate change and apply what has been learned on the course to his or her field of study. The student can critically examine different perspectives, solutions, information sources and the current debate on climate change.
Climate.now - modules:
Basics of climate change as phenomena; its impact on ecosystems and society; mitigation and adaptation.
The course has four contact sessions. In addition, the students meet in small study groups ca 8 times during the course period, online learning materials (self-study materials), 2 group projects and Learning diary.

The course can be completed either as 2 or 5 credits.
