Miten opiskelemaan?

Kuvaus

Soveltuu tutkintoasetuksen mukaisen alempaan korkeakoulututkintoon vaadittavan kieliopinnon osaksi.

Starting level CEFR B2.

The aim of the course is for students to develop discussion and writing skills in the academic and professional English of their field and to gain confidence to use these skills. The intention is that students improve their ability to

  1. understand advanced general and academic/professional spoken English
  2. discuss and debate academic topics more fluently and spontaneously
  3. present, explain and illustrate ideas and opinions
  4. write well-structured academic texts using the vocabulary of their field
  5. write more clearly and accurately
  6. take responsibility for their own learning and become more autonomous language learners, in order to promote life-long learning

Depending on the particular needs of the group, the course will include

  1. preparing topics for discussion relevant to the fields of study
  2. presenting, discussing and debating topics related to the fields of study
  3. examining and practicing the language and structure of academic writing
  4. writing texts relevant to the students’ academic and professional needs
  5. becoming familiar with strategies and tools for future language development

Completing the course.
The students are required to attend 80% of the classes.
2 credits = 28 contact hours and 26 hours of independent work.

Opettajan ja opiskelijoiden materiaali.

This is a pass/fail course. To pass the course, students are expected to engage actively in the tasks agreed upon and complete them. A variety of evaluation methods will be used, including peer- and self-assessment, portfolios and the continuous evaluation of performance. There will be no final test.

LÄSNÄOLO: Hyväksytty suoritus edellyttää läsnäoloa vähintään 80%:lla oppitunneista.
