- The online registration is available for those who have Finnish identity number and an online bankig ID.
- If you don't have Finnish identity number and / or an online banking ID, you should register at the Admission Services of University of Helsinki.
- If don't have Finnish identity number and/or an online ID and you live outside Finland / cannot visit University of Helsinki, it is unfortunately impossible for you to register to the course.
- International students at the University of Helsinki can enrol on the course with their University of Helsinki username.

As an Open University student you'll get the University of Helsinki username to access the university's IT systems. The username should be activated after the registration online or at the university.
Online activating requires strong electronic identification. If it is not possible, you should visit the Helsinki University ID-point.

The course is organized in co-operation with the Master's Programme in Atmospheric Sciences. Master's Programme in Atmospheric Sciences arranges the course in which the Open University students (max XX students) attend. They registrate themselves via Open University's study programme (Enrol).

Overarching learning goal is being able to mitigate and solve sustainability problems.
1. Systems thinking competence:
Having completed the course, the student is able to understand structure and dynamics of complex
systems related to solving sustainability challenges in a real-life project.
● Student can describe given sustainability challenges from multiple perspectives.
2. Anticipatory competence:
After the course, the student is able to anticipate possible and/or sustainable futures related to
solving practical sustainability challenges.
● Student can apply his/her knowledge in order to predict possible outcomes of sustainability

3. Normative competence:
Having completed the course the student is able to differentiate, justify, and apply values and goals

Individual work 35h
The course consists of three online sessions and online learning material. Students write learning diary individually and work in small groups to make one project work that will be presented in the end of course.
The small groups make project plan, report and a blog article about their project.
Remote participation is possible.
