Doctoral candidates and other early career researchers

After completing the course, doctoral candidates will be familiar with the subject area of the course

To be completed at any time during doctoral studies, the course will be offered annually.

There are certain tasks that a scientist encounters day after day, week after week, year after year ad infinitum. These include planning, writing and revising scientific articles, giving presentations, writing applications, rewiewing manuscripts, looking after your career, etc. It is a benefit for a young scientist to understand how these tasks can be approached effectively. In this course, a perspective to science in general is given, and proven teachniques of approaching these tasks in a systematic and efficient manner are described. Common pitfalls are also described and useful tips given. Following these lectures you will most likely be significantly better informed about the scientific process than you were before it.

Compulsory participation to lectures and discussion, homework; no exam

According to the course content.
