Bioimage Analysis Course


  • The Doctoral Programme in Biomedicine coordinates the course.
  • This is an optional course.
  • The course is part of the Field-Specific Studies module.
  • The course is available to students of other degree programmes.

Introduction to bioimage analysis tools and methods. Subjects covered will include methods such as object recognition, intensity measurements, colocalization studies, and object tracking. Practical analysis training will concentrate on software freely available and installable via the university software portal, and on commercial software available on BIU analysis workstations.

This course is for second year and beyond doctoral candidates. In the autumn term, the course is not organised annually.

Hands-on Workshops:

SVI Huygens (Deconvolution)(half-day)
Imaris basic(half-day)
Imaris advanced (whole day)
Fiji (half-day)
Cellprofiler (half-day)
ZEN (half-day)

Attendance on the lecture day (11.5.2020) and three hands-on workshops (3h each) are required for credits (1 ECTS).
