Opintojen alkuvaiheessa

This timely and comprehensive course helps doctoral students consider critically and reflexively the application and use of research methods to their field of research. The course introduces and problematizes the most important issues related to the research process, such as determining the most suitable methods for various research questions. Several examples of concrete studies are discussed with the students

The volume Research Methods in Intercultural Communication Edited by Zhu Hua (2016) will serve as a basis for the course (Wiley Blackwell).

Chapters of interest: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9

The course is evaluated against active participation and the handing in of a critical and reflexive examination of the students’ own use of methods in their PhD research.
