Master’s Programme in Geology and Geophysics is responsible for the course.

Compulsory course, Seismology course package.

The course is available to students from other degree programmes.

BSc in Geology/Physics

The student 1) knows the basic earthquake parameters (magnitude types, fault plane solutions, moments and moment tensors), 2) can determine these parameters using the Seisan software, 3) is familiar with earthquake location based on LQS and ML methods

The recommended time for completion is in the first or second year of MSc studies.

The course is offered every other year in period II (next time in 2018, 2020).

Earthquake location; earthquake size; fault plane solutions; moment tensor inversion
