Bachelor’s Programme in Languages.

Spanish Philology.

Only for students of Spanish Philology.

The course should be completed after or at the same time as Spanish Grammar in Basic Studies.

The student will be able to:

-recognize the units of the morphological analysis and those of the syntactic analysis and determine their functions within the word and within the sentence;

-identify the morphological structure of words and the syntactic structure of sentences;

-segment and explain properly different morphological units and syntactic structures of the Spanish language;

-master the linguistic instruments for the morphological and syntactic analysis;

-reflect on the relation between grammar (morphology and syntax) and phraseology.

The course will be completed at the same time or after the completion of Spanish Grammar within Basic Studies. The course will be offered once per year during two periods.

The content of the course will deal with the following topics:

-Parts of speech or lexical categories.

-Derivational and inflectional morphemes.

-Units and functions of the syntactic analysis.

-Phrase structure and its types.

-Sentence structure and its types.

-Relations between Morphology and Syntax.

- Execution of the activities asked during the course

- Written exam

Distance learning course modality:

-Written exam: 100%

Grading scale from 0 to 5.

The course will be offered as contact teaching and as distance learning course.

Methods of completion:

-contact teaching modality: attendance to the lessons (compulsory attendance), completion of individual and group activities and final work or exam.

-distance learning course: final exam.
